The Snowpocalypse of 2016

The complete documentation of the catastrophic Snowpocalypse of January 2016.

reenactment

Facebook Status, January 3rd, Day 1 of the Snowpocalypse: I am Drinking hot chocolate with Combier, watching Forensic Files and illustrating a children's book.

Facebook status, January 4th, day 2 of the snowpocalypse: A coworker picked me up to go to work today. Taxis were either backed up or not running and Uber prices surged 3x for my neighborhood. Where once there was soft white powder now remains an ugly coat of what can only be described as "devil's stone" covering everything in sight and endangering the lives of many. What was fun and alluring yesterday has given way to something of cataclysmic proportions. I know not why God hath such cruelty, all I can do is wait for the next wave of wrath. If this be my last entry tell my cat I love him. Sincerely, the Portland Native.

Facebook status, January 5th, Day 3 of the snowpocalypse: I've made it through another night. Thankfully our power source generated enough heat to survive, though I can't fathom at what cost. Today is my day off, and I am now plagued with the decision: do I bare the elements of what lies outside for supplies and necessities, like cat litter, a haircut and maybe an acrylic fill at the nail salon (pray it is still standing).... or do I remain in the safety of my abode, comforted by warmth and the progress of this song I've been working on for days... The light will soon be gone, we have so little of it now. This harrowing choice I must now face, though daunting, revives me as I await the next wave of destruction. ~the Portland Native

Facebook status, January 6th, remembering the snopocalypse: It would appear we've made it through winter. The cold death grip of frosty air still among us, but fading. Today I venture out, stronger, braver than I once was, ready to take on the cruel elements. The white death that swiftly covered everything now just a memory... a reminder of what we can achieve. We conquer and reclaim our roads today, not as mere humans...but as survivors. ~the Portland native
